Established in 1148 in the Sénancole valley, the abbey of Sénanque is the only one of the “Three Sisters of Provence” (see Thoronet Abbey and Silvacane Abbey) to still be home to a community of Cistercian monks who make a living from the cultivation of lavender and the production of honey and olive oil.
