Founded mid 12th century, it is one of the three famous abbeys of Provence, often referred to as “the three sisters of Provence”. The architectural features are mostly Romanesque with some Gothic elements, dating back to the late 12th and 13th centuries. The abbey hosts many cultural events including live performances at the Festival International de Piano de la Roque-d’Anthéron and as part of the Festival d’Art Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence.
